
Peter Cox's Nature Tours offer encounters with the Tobago's nature at its very best - visits to the tropical rainforest at Main Ridge reserve, the Argyle Waterfalls, Little Tobago bird sanctuary.
Unfortunately tours to the Hillsborough Dam are on hold.
For visitors seeking general sightseeing on Robinson Crusoe's island, Peter arranges island sightseeing tours to deserted beaches, across the mountains, to small villages and some of the Forts from Tobago's turbulent history. Snorkeling trips by glass-bottom boats at the Angel Reef at Speyside are followed by lunch at the much-loved and world renowned Miss Jemma’s Treehouse restaurant.
All Tours Include : pick up from your hotel, full guided activities as described and light refreshment en route.

The Main Ridge Rainforest and Argyle Waterfalls
Depart 6am return 3pm
This rainforest appreciation tour is an educational experience. The Main Ridge reserve is a place of incredible diversity where nature's efficiency rules supreme. Encounters with nature there include humming birds, butterflies, frogs, crabs, red squirrels and more. The tour includes a refreshing swim in the pool at Argyle waterfall.
Little Tobago Bird Sanctuary and Argyle Falls
Departs 8:30am return 4.30pm
This tour combines activities of hiking, bird watching and snorkelling. It begins with a glass-bottom boat trip to the off shore island bird sanctuary at Little Tobago for an easy hike to observe species of marine birds such as the Red Billed Tropic Bird and Brown and Red Footed Booby’s. This is followed by snorkelling at Angel Reef (equipment is included if required), an abundant coral reef with numerous species of fish and coral formations. Lunch follows at the well-known "Miss Jemma's Treehouse restaurant" overlooking the Speyside bay. The final stop is at the Argyle waterfalls to unwind, relax and enjoy a swim at the fresh water pool.
Bon Accord Wetlands, Mangrove Swamp
Departs 6am returns 9am
This trip offers an easily accessible opportunity to observe over 30 species of wetland birds including ducks, herons, waterfowl and waders. This is a relatively simple plant community dominated by mangrove species and fern but is a complex eco-system.
Arnos Vale Bird Watching
Departs 3.30pm returns 5pm
A short but very entertaining afternoon of bird watching for everyone. Excellent for photographers with still and video cameras as the birds are merely inches away ... hummingbirds, Mot Mots, Tanagers, Woodpeckers and many more. A tour of the stunning exotic gardens is also included.
Tobago Island Sightseeing Tour
Departs 9am returns 5pm (8 hours)
For the curious who are interested in exploring Robinson Crusoe's island, this tour travels both coasts (the Caribbean and the Atlantic) crossing the Main Ridge mountains, stopping at deserted beaches, exploring small villages including Castara and the beautiful Charlottesville. There is time for a swim at Englishman's Bay and photo stops along the way.
This is the ideal way to enjoy the island's scenic beauty while learing interesting information about her history, nature, population and life styles. Lunch is at Miss Jemma's restaurant.
Scarborough Market
Departs 9am returns 2.30pm
This is the real Caribbean flavour - more of an event than a tour! Visit the island's food centre, THE place to be on Friday where provisions, vegetables, fruit and spices are sold amidst local gossip. A true taste of Tobago and her culture! Wander off between downtown and uptown Scarborough, walk through the Botanic Gardens and visit Fort King George and its excellent small Museum of Tobago History. There is also a Shopping stop at The Cotton House.

Rain Forest Night Safari
Tour leaves at 6 pm until Midnight
Walking through the jungle at night can be a magical experience as you will see nocturnal animals such as armadillo, opossum, snakes, bats, owls as well as many others. The night sounds of the jungle will also be an unforgettable experience.
TRINIDAD TOUR - ASA WRIGHT NATURE CENTRE AND THE CARONI SWAMP BIRD SANCTUARY

Trinidad, Tobago's sister isle, has a very different natural history with abundant species of birds not found in Tobago. This one-day tour to Trinidad visits two outstanding locations - to the mountains of the Northern Range with the opportunity to see many different humming bird species, honeycreepers, woodpeckers, and small wild animals, such as matte, agouti and others.
While at the Caroni plains at sundown the breathtaking sight of flocks of Scarlet Ibis coming to roost in the mangrove swamp is never to be forgotten

HILLSBOROUGH DAM AND LITTLE TOBAGO BIRD SANCTUARY (on hold)
Departs 9am returns 5pm
The Hillsborough Dam is Tobago's primary water reservoir, home to numerous species of birds as well as some caiman (a small species of alligator). The tour includes spotting caiman and bird watching at the Dam then proceeds to Speyside for the crossing to Little Tobago using the glass-bottom boats. After a hike on Little Tobago there is time for snorkelling at Angel Reef. The tour ends with lunch at Miss Jemma's Treehouse restaurant before returning to your hotel.
HILLSBOROUGH DAM AND MAIN RIDGE FOREST RESERVE (on Hold)
Departs 6am returns 2pm
On this tour you enjoy close encounters with nature and wildlife at the Main Ridge forest reserve during a 2 1/2 hour walk/hike through the rainforest. Following this the tour proceeds to the Hillsborough Dam for a 1 1/2 hour visit with adequate time to explore all the Dam offers including close encounters with caiman (a small species of alligator)!
